Event Background Calgary Health Region - Palliative Care Palliative care is the active compassionate treatment and care of people with a terminal illness and for those who are close to them. Besides medical care and pain management to improve the quality of life by controlling the symptoms of the disease, we provide psychosocial and spiritual support to assist with grief and bereavement. We provide this care in a number of locations including your home if that is where you would like to stay and if it is medically possible for you to do so. We have a range of programs so that as your condition changes, you can get the help you need. For Palliative Home Care, talk to your doctor or your health care team about arranging a referral. Arrangements are different for each of the other services. Click here to go to Calgary Health Region's Palliative Care website. The Mary O'Connor Foundation More information to come | ||
